Super Mermaid was a 2019 theatre production, a Scotland-Singapore collaboration combining animation with live theatre, that was showcased as a work-in-progress at the Manipulate Festival in Edinburgh. The play was directed by Thong Pei Qin and co-produced with Karene Teo, with support from the National Arts Council (Singapore) and Puppet Animation Scotland.
Over two months, we explored how animation and projection mapping can influence, inform or interact with what was a ‘historically traditional’ artform.
